Unfriendly staff, dirty double room which smelled and noisy way into the early hours of the morning with people (staff) partying (1am really?). Definite no from me!. Was not very impressed with the place, was dirty, smelly and very noisy! our room was right beside a shower and had people showering all hours of the night and room next to us they talked very loudly until 2ish in the morning, and then people showering again from 6am. Only had one sheet and a duvet cover, not very hygienic at all. Was very annoying as i had surgery the next day, but at least it was only for one night and the hostel was very cheap. You get what you pay for i guess. Nice person on check in.had room next to bathroom which was very noisy until 0300am.only one night and just need a place with a bed and the basics which this backpackers provided.cheap and cheerful.building could do with a refeverb but that would be a big job as probley one of the original buildings in dunedin. . Good please , has everything you need and very handy to the down town and all the bars ad eating places. Just be warned that around late july and august you may be sharing with very loud and over friendly and drunk kiwi rugby teams. Would stay there again , arrived they say no booking waited 20 minutes while they found a room , typical backpackers was very dirty!! only place available to stay for 4 people , thumbs down from us. |
