A lovely sheltered lodge and camp ground, situated in Owaka. The small township has a supermarket, local tavern and cafes. We are located 4.5km from Surat Bay, where you can view seals. Pounawea and Jacks Bay are also just a short drive away. Nugget Point and Kaka Point are a 20 minute drive.

From the lodge, you can visit many local waterfalls and beaches and see penguins, seals and other wild life.

The lodge is in a large 100 year old converted hospital. Some guests say we have "ghosts" staying. Come and check in with us, and see if you meet a ghost! The lodge has a large guest kitchen and separate dining room. There is a large games room with free darts, pool and piano. We also have WIFI (small cost) plus two sunrooms and a TV room. We offer free DVD hire. There is lots of outdoor space, BBQ facilities and even a fish pond!

Inside the lodge, we have a mix of dormitory beds and budget rooms. We also have ensuite rooms in the Surat Wing plus the self contained Matrons Flat, with its own balcony!

The camp ground area is in a very sheltered garden. We offer powered and tent sites, located close to the kitchen and toilet block, with outdoor table and chairs to use.

The lodge is only 150 metres from the local supermarket (open 7am until 7pm), museum, pub and a handful of restaurants and cafes.

We cater for groups and we are fantastic place to stay if the weather is inclement!

Open from late October until late April every summer season.
